Valet-Chem's Tent, Canvas & Awning Waterproofer is specifically designed to revive and protect your outdoor canvas gear. It replicates the original water-repellent finish found on tents, awnings, boat covers, convertibles, and canvas car coverings.

With a single application, Tent & Awning Canvas Waterproofer creates a long-lasting, invisible shield that beads up water and keeps you dry in even the heaviest downpours.

The unique solvent-based (petroleum) formula creates a tough, yet flexible coating that acts as a barrier against the elements. This durable protection shields your fabrics from UV rays, rain, and other environmental factors, season after season.

Tent & Awning Canvas Waterproofer doesn't just protect against water, it also helps prevent stains and soil build-up. The protective coating makes it easier to clean dirt and grime.

Clean your canvas items before using the waterproofer with our Tent, Canvas & Awning Cleaner.

5 litres of Tent, Canvas & Awning Waterproofer treats up to 100m², depending on saturation.

Tip:
Apply on a warm sunny day and allow to dry in sunlight

Key Features:

  • Superior Water Repellence & Durability: Creates a long-lasting, invisible shield that beads up water and keeps you dry, even in heavy rain. The solvent-based formula forms a tough, flexible coating that protects fabrics for multiple seasons.
  • Restores & Extends Lifespan: Revives the original water-repellence of canvas gear and protects against UV rays. This helps maintain the look and functionality of your awnings, covers and tents.
  • Stain & Soil Resistance: The protective coating makes it more resistant to dirt and grime build up, while making it easier to clean.
  1. Ensure the product is used outside if this is not possible use in a well ventilated space. Respiratory protection should be worn.
  2. Begin by thoroughly cleaning and drying the fabric with Tent, Canvas & Awning Cleaner. Dirt and grime can interfere with the waterproofing process.
  3. Before applying to the entire area, test the product on a small, inconspicuous spot on the canvas. This ensures compatibility and avoids any unexpected reactions.
  4. Apply the Tent & Awning Canvas Waterproofer in a well-ventilated space. Spray at a consistent distance and spray evenly until the fabric is evenly saturated but not dripping. Avoid over-application.
  5. Allow the treated fabric to dry completely before use. Ideally, choose a sunny day for application to expedite the drying process. Once dry, your canvas gear will be ready to face the elements!

Tent, Canvas & Awning Waterproofer FAQ

Popular questions asked about Tent, Canvas & Awning Waterproofer

Reapplication frequency depends on usage and weather exposure. A good rule of thumb is to reapply after a season of heavy use or if water starts to soak into the fabric instead of beading up.

While it's suitable for most canvas and awning materials, it's always recommended to test on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure compatibility.

No, the fabric must be completely dry before application. Moisture can prevent the waterproofer from properly bonding to the fibres.

Some fabric may slightly darken. It's best to test on a hidden area to see if any colour change occurs before treating the entire piece.

Once the product dries completely, it's considered safe. However, it's always best to practice caution and keep pets and children away from the area during application and drying.
