This innovative formula creates a microscopic texture through a simple application process. Just brush it on, watch the surface turn black to confirm complete coverage, then rinse clean. Valet-Chem's Mordant T-Wash dries quickly, allowing you to apply primer within 48 hours, and is compatible with a wide range of topcoats, even high-temperature paints. It's the perfect solution for ensuring exceptional paint adhesion on new galvanised surfaces, especially where abrasive methods aren't ideal.

  1. Clean the Surface: For heavily contaminated surfaces: Scrub with an abrasive pad, water, and cleaning agent. Rinse thoroughly and let dry.
    For oily/greasy surfaces: Wipe down with Universal Degreaser before cleaning.
  2. Apply Mordant T-Wash: Wear gloves and eye protection. Apply the solution liberally with a paint brush. Observe the surface. It should turn black within 15 minutes to 1 hour, indicating successful etching.
  3. Rinse and Dry: Thoroughly rinse the treated area with clean water. Allow the surface to dry completely before painting (ideally within 48 hours).
  4. Uneven Coloration on Weathered Surfaces: Mordant T-Wash might react less effectively on weathered galvanised surfaces. A light grey to dark grey colour change might occur, indicating reduced effectiveness.
    If no colour change happens, the area is likely heavily contaminated and requires further cleaning before using Mordant T-Wash.
    Do not apply additional coats of Mordant T-Wash to compensate for lack of colour change.
