This powerful formula tackles rust on all types of ferrous metals, leaving behind a clean, bare surface in a matter of minutes.

Unlike other harsh products, Valet-Chem Rust Remover is specifically designed to target rust itself, not the discoloration it leaves behind. This means you can use it on a variety of metals with confidence, knowing it won't harm brass, copper, aluminium, gold, or even delicate surfaces like lead, titanium, and chrome. Steel, cast iron, and even soldered points are safe!

Simply pre-clean the affected area to remove any oil or dirt that might hinder the process. Then, rinse the item and fully immerse it in our solution. Alternatively, for larger surfaces or those that can't be submerged, apply the Rust Remover directly with a rag.

Tip:
Depending on the severity of the rust, soak time can vary from a few minutes to a longer period

Key Features:

  • Fast and Effortless Rust Removal: Eliminates rust on ferrous metals in just minutes, saving you time and scrubbing.
  • Safe on Various Metals: Unlike harsh alternatives, this Rust Remover won't harm steel, cast iron, chrome, brass, copper, aluminium, and even delicate metals like lead and titanium.
  • Targets Rust, Not Stains: This formula specifically removes rust, not the discoloration it leaves behind, perfect for restoring the original appearance of your metal items..
  1. Prepare the Surface: Begin by pre-cleaning the rusted area with soapy water or a degreaser to remove any dirt or oil that might hinder the Rust Remover's effectiveness. Rinse the item thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry completely.
  2. Soaking or Wiping: For small objects that can be fully submerged, completely immerse them in the Rust Remover solution within a suitable container. For larger surfaces or objects that can't be submerged, apply the Rust Remover directly onto the rusted area with a rag or brush.
  3. Monitor Progress: The soak time will depend on the severity of the rust. Check on the progress periodically. For light rust, a few minutes might suffice. Heavier rust may require a longer soaking time, up to several hours.
  4. Neutralise and Rinse: Once the rust is removed, remove the object from the solution (if submerged) and rinse it thoroughly with clean water. This will neutralise the Rust Remover and remove any loose rust particles.
  5. Dry and Evaluate: Allow the object to dry completely. If there are any remaining rust spots, repeat steps 2-4 as needed.

Rust Remover FAQ

Popular questions asked about Rust Remover

Our Rust Remover is highly effective on ferrous metals, which contain iron. This includes common metals like steel, cast iron, and wrought iron.

Our Rust Remover specifically targets and removes rust itself, not the discoloration (stains) it leaves behind. For removing rust stains, you may need a separate rust stain remover product.

The soaking time depends on the severity of the rust. Lighter rust may only require a few minutes, while heavier rust can take several hours. Check on the progress periodically and re-soak if necessary.

Our Rust Remover is safe for a variety of metals including steel, cast iron, chrome, brass, copper, and aluminium. It's not recommended for non-ferrous metals like magnesium or zinc. If you're unsure about a particular metal, it's always best to test a small inconspicuous area first.

Always follow local regulations for disposing of chemical waste. In some cases, you can dilute the used solution with a large amount of water and dispose of it down the drain. However, it's best to check with your local waste disposal authority for specific guidelines.
